Animation Scope

We all are familiar with word Animation, and we all know it is one of the fastest growing Industry Today. Animation is derived from a Latin word anima, meaning soul. Animation as a career can be pursued by those who posses excellent creativity and drawing skills. Animation is emerging a special form of media now days. As the animation Industry is growing Demand for professional animators, Texturing Artist, Animator- Rigging Artists, Digital Artist etc is also rising. From cartoons to movies, product designing to web designing animation is seen everywhere.



Each animation has one thing in common it must start with an idea or concept. Animation is any thing that moves on your screen like a cartoon character. For a beginner, a preliminary course in 2D and 3D animation is a must. 2D drawings are based on two geometric co-ordinates, 'x' for horizontal and 'y' for vertical. 3D animation includes an additional co-ordinate, known as 'z, Known as the 'Cartesian Co-ordinate System’. Besides the most commonly used animations, i.e. two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D), there is also puppet animation, clay animation, sand animation, vegetable animation etc. Both 2D and 3D animation can be created digitally. Two-dimensional images are shallow in appearance, while three-dimensional images have a feel of depth to them, thus making them look more real.

Student must have creativity skills, good listening skills, artistic talent, good reading comprehension skills and good time management skills, to be a good Animator. There are number of job opportunities available in India and abroad for professional animators. If we look at data of Animation Industry i.e. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), www.bls.gov, the career outlook for computer animators is good and expected to grow by about 16 percent between 2006 and 2016.
