How to use of Smart Filters in Photoshop?
Ans. To work with smart filter, first you have to convert the layer to smart object first.
There are many ways to convert a layer to a smart object:
a) Filter > Covert for Smart Filters.
All the filters that snip with Adobe Photoshop aside those from mentioned on this page will work on smart filters. You can now apply any Photoshop filter needs to be enabled to work except Extract, Liquefy etc.
b) To apply a smart filter to an entire smart object layer.
* Select the layer in the layer panel. To constrain the effects of the smart filter to a selected area of a smart layer.
* Make a selection.
c) To apply a smart filter to a regular layer chose a filter from Filter Menu.
d) You can choose any menu including third party filter that support smart filters, Except Extract, Liquefy, Pattern Maker and Vanishing Point.
e) If you apply one or more filters using the filter gallery, they appear as a group in the layer's Panel named "Filter Gallery".
You can edit individual filters by double clicking a filter entry.
The filter is appeared under the smart filter in the layer Panel beneath the smart object layer. After applying a smart filter, you can drag it on to other smart object layer in the layer Panel.
Press Alt+Drag smart filters.
Note: You can drag smart filters on regular layers. You can also adjust, reorder or delete smart filters.
To expand or collapse the view of smart filters, click the triangle the view of smart filters, click the triangle next to the smart filter icon displayed to the right of the smart object layer in the layer panel.
